Tim Field

Job Title:

Environmental Surveyor, Agricology Executive Board Member

A farming family and a rural upbringing encouraged my interest in land management, but my passion for nature and country sports led me to study environmental and behavioural biology. This interest was nurtured through practical experience working as an environmental consultant for Royal Haskoning before joining Daylesford in 2007. My work at Daylesford has enabled me to pursue my interest in farming and sustainable food production.  Since joining Daylesford, I have completed a surveying degree to support my work with Carole Bamford on the farm, retail business and the Foundation, striving to push the boundaries of sustainable food production.

I advise on matters of sustainability across the Daylesford Organic brand, agriculture and properties, and sit on the Board for the Daylesford Foundation.

Maintaining biodiversity has been the primary motivation for my involvement with agriculture.  With 70% of the British landscape producing food, and with millennia of farming practices shaping our rich biodiversity, sustainable farming is very important to me.

I am happiest when walking through the UKs rich habitats whilst stalking, trout fishing, working my pointer or simply spotting wildlife.  One of the most satisfying moments of my career was observing 50 snipe rising out of a purpose-built flood meadow at Daylesford, within six weeks of completing the habitat creation works.
