To coincide with Groundswell we are focusing on regenerative farming, for which (as agroecologist and entomologist Professor John Holland wrote), improving soil health is the core objective. It leads to many other benefits including increased soil carbon storage, greater resilience to flooding and drought through higher organic matter levels and improved soil structure, improved nutrient recycling, and improved soil biota which improves plant health, supports biodiversity up the food chain, and leads to increased resistance to pathogens. Find out about the two sessions Agricology will be running at Groundswell discussing increasing resilience to flooding and drought and reducing reliance on inputs here.
