Soil nutrient management in low input systems

It is important to supply sufficient nutrients to a crop at the correct point in its development to achieve economically viable yields, and to balance inputs and off takes of nutrients to avoid nutrient loss or environmental pollution. We look at soil monitoring, using nutrients efficiently, and ensuring timely delivery of nutrients; through practices such as applying manures and alternative sources of muck, growing fertility building leys and combining different crops.
